A 5-Part Mini-Series produced by Calvary Chapel Stone Mountain: THE GOOD FIGHT. Up-and-coming boxer David Castle is headed towards the biggest fight of his life against undefeated Tayo Graves. But what is he battling? Fear, anger, his flesh, integrity… We’ll see flashbacks to his past as he learns to fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12). Included alongside each video (available for download) is a document with discussion questions. Episode 1: The Fall
Plagued by failure, not only in the ring but in his personal life and childhood, David sinks into depression. He’s surrounded by people shouting about his failures. He believes he is who everyone says he is: “Worthless. Pathetic.” But he looks to his coach, the only person in his life who speaks truths about who David is: Strong. Capable. Determined.
Episode 2: Vengeance
David continues to struggle with the mental effects of abuse, and it comes out in hurtful anger, both to himself and the people around him. He finds himself losing control in his training and in the ring.
Episode 3: The Contract
The tide has turned for David. As he overcomes the battles in his mind, he also begins to have success in the ring. As he is gaining popularity and fame, he is faced with tough choices: party invites, drugs, and opportunities to test his integrity at every turn. Sports Agent Melony Blake presents David with a contract to “take the fall” in his upcoming fight against Tayo Graves.
Episode 4: Battleground
The big title fight has begun. Tayo mocks and toys with David in the first 2 rounds. You can see David’s anger and frustration beginning to show. The big moment comes in Round 3. Does David take the money and lose his integrity? Does he get back up when knocked down?
Episode 5: The Good Fight
The finale of the title fight and the series. David and Tayo battle through 12 rounds before someone delivers a knockout punch. Years later, David shares his testimony with a youth group.
